Paul Smith, DPM, is an accomplished podiatrist at West Suburban Podiatry in Western Springs, Illinois. Dr. Smith has training in all areas of foot and ankle pathology, including sports medicine, diabetic care, fracture management, flat foot reconstruction, orthotics, bunions, and hammertoes.
Dr. Smith grew up in La Grange, Illinois, and obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2012. He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University School of Medicine in North Chicago in June 2016, graduating as valedictorian of his medical school class.
He then completed a three-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, in June 2019. This experience allowed him to receive surgical training with some of the best podiatric and orthopedic physicians in the country.
Dr. Smith is an avid runner and swimmer. Having dealt with previous foot pain himself, he understands the importance of identifying and efficiently treating any pathology to allow a quick return to activity and sport. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care while focusing on communication and patient education.
